The Quinta is a well established holiday centre. As a result
the facilities we offer have developed over the years and now we can
provide a wide range of diverse activities and passtimes to keep you
amused and help you get the most out of your precious holiday.
What clothing optional holiday would be
complete without one? The Quinta da Horta's (heated) pool is surrounded by a
large sun bathing area, with patches of natural shade throughout the
day, equipped with loungers and chairs.
Right next to the pool, beautiful positioned
for a 'warmer' as the sun sets in the evening or for taking a plunge
in the pool to cool down after a session in the sauna.
A full sized tennis court is available for
you to use whatever your standard as a player and however you
choose to dress. We'll even lend you the rackets and balls too!
All
around the Quinta there are pretty, natural gardens to stroll around, shady
corners under mature fig and almond trees, fish ponds, semi-tropical flowers and grassed lawns.
Relax and lose yourself in your favourite corner!
The classic French outdoor game. Just one
of a range of games we have that you can borrow to while away a
gentle hour or two.
Fancy a cuppa? Want to cook a full meal for
yourselves and the rest of the guests? There is a fully equipped
communal kitchen available for our guests to use near the pool.
Just want to throw together a salad and pop
some meat on the barbie? ... No problem, there is a dedicated barbeque
area available for guests to use for lunch or supper or anytime in
between, ordered in advance we can even do the shopping for you!
One of the great joys of having free time is the
chance to read and having a no risk opportunity to discover something
new or of rediscovering an old friend. At the Quinta we have a large
collection of books built up over the years. There is no need to
bring a pile of books with you, unless you want to! We offer a
loving home to any books you care to contribute to future guests
If you are halfway
through a book as you leave us... we lose all our books that way!
There is also an extensive range of
guides to the local area.
In the long dark evenings of the Portuguese
winter we watch it. During the summer the TV is available for guests
to watch big events or DVDs from our collection. Useful in the unlikely event of
the weather being less than great.
When the sun has become too much our small
collection of DVDs offer something to while away an hour or so.
The collection has grown over a number of years and from many
sources so there is bound to be an old favourite lurking in the
pile!
A computer, with broadband is available to
all guests so you can check your email, surf the net, book outings
and shop on line.
From cards to monopoly, boules to garden
games in the great outdoors we have options to amuse and challenge
you and new friends all summer long.
The Quinta da Horta (the "Market Garden")
continues to maintain it's farming traditions of over 200 years of
history of which the chickens are the most obvious and vocal part.
The fruit and vegetable gardens not only reflect the
history of the Quinta but contribute to the meals we serve here, help in the gardens is always welcomed!
